Miss Eco International 2017 has officially kicked off and we are excited to tell everyone about what the ladies have been doing. The ladies will have plenty of cultural trips all over Egypt where they will have the opportunity to learn about and experience the culture. The first trip was very exciting for all of the ladies and a few of them have some opinions to share with us. Yesterday, the 2nd of April, we had the honor of taking all of the ladies to the historic Library of Alexandria. At the library, the beauty pageant contestants had the opportunity to express themselves in an exclusive press conference inside. Lot of people asked the ladies about Egypt and what they thought about it so far. They also had the chance to participate in a tour of the whole library and its museums. In the museums, the ladies saw some of Egypt’s most significant ancient discoveries.
Nada Shokry for example, one of the main organizers for this year’s Miss Eco International had this to say about the trip to the Library: “The conference was great and the questions the audience asked were very intuitive. It was a welcome surprise that the library had translators for all of the ladies just in case one of them didn’t understand something. Also, as an Egyptian, it was great to see how much each of the ladies appreciated learning about our culture and its history in the 5 museums. Miss Colombia Brenda Barbosa also had something’s to say about the trip: “The trip was amazing! I feel like Alexandria is one of the most multi cultural places in the world. It’s nice to see how even though they have their own unique and special culture, they still integrate other cultures and adopt some of their history and customs into their own. We all know Egypt is the cradle of civilization, but it’s impressive to see how much one of the most ancient cultures in the world is still growing and evolving.”
We also asked Miss Spain, Marta Lorenzo, what she thought about the trip and she told us: “The library of Alexandria isn’t just a place where literally anyone can come in and expand their knowledge by checking out a book. It is also a place where you can experience and learn about Egyptian culture first hand. We had the chance to see historic artifacts that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. The amount of unique things you can do and see in this huge library is astonishing. I loved that the staff answered all of our questions; they were truly great people who know what they are doing. It was also very comforting to have translators who spoke Spanish!”
As you can see the ladies had a blast on the trip to the Library of Alexandria. We can’t wait to come back again in the near future to do another amazing tour here. The staff at the library is great and they were very welcoming and helpful the entire time we were there. Stay on the lookout for our next post where we will fill you in on what we did at Gold’s gym with the contestants.
