On April 5th, 2017, we finally had the chance to take all of the contestants to the most famous tourist attraction in Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza. We arrived at the pyramids at around 12:30 Pm and the ladies were anxious to get their day at the historic site. First, we visited the biggest pyramid, The Great Pyramid of Giza, apart from being the largest of the three main pyramids, it is also the oldest. This pyramid is also known for being the oldest of the 7 wonders of the world. Later, we visited a unique spot where you get a panoramic view of all of the pyramids of Giza. The ladies took plenty of pictures and had a great time here. Finally, we wrapped up the tour by visiting The Great Sphinx of Giza. This limestone statue is a representation of the mythical creature which has the body of a lion and the face of a human. The Sphynx is largely believed to represent the pharaoh, Khafre. After leaving the pyramids, we wrapped up our day by visiting Boston Burger, one of the most visited burger restaurants in Cairo. All of the contestants loved their burgers and they are hopping they are able to visit one last time before they leave Egypt.
And now, for the ladies opinion on their day! Mis Spain Marta Lorenzo had this to say: “I didn’t know the pyramids were so majestically beautiful. They were huge! It amazes me how something so old could have been preserved this well, also, it’s crazy how something so big and perfectly built could have been constructed so long ago. It must have been something extremely difficult, even more so since they built multiple ones, not just The Great Pyramid. The only regret that I have is that we couldn’t go inside of the pyramids. My favorite part of the day was visiting the Sphinx. After the Pyramids we visited Boston Burger, we were starving and the burgers there were just what we needed. They were amazing! I can’t wait to come back to Egypt in the near future.”
Miss Costa Rica Estefania also had a few things to say about the trip: “The Pyramids are a place that leaves you speechless. It’s amazing to think about how they were built without really being sure how it was done. After the Pyramids, we visited Boston Burger where we all enjoyed delicious burgers with amazing tasting meat.” Miss South Africa Temieke Streicher also has a few things to say about the trip: “In South Africa, we talk about the Pyramids a lot because we everyone knows its one of the most famous tourist destinations in Egypt. It’s so amazing and big, it was truly one of the most memorable experiences that I have ever had. I also enjoyed riding the camels, we don’t really have too many places where you can ride camels in South Africa so this was my first time to ever do it. The Burgers we had at Boston Burger were also amazing. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.”
As you can see, the ladies had an eventful day in Cairo which they will never forget. It’s great to see them having fun, enjoying life, and most importantly, of course, learning about what it means to be crowned as Miss Eco International. As of right now, we are in Dahab enjoying our time at the Swiss Hotel. In a few hours we will be having the Bikini competition so expect another blog post soon with plenty of pictures and opinions from some of our contestants.
